Solumnic was the world's first and only successful attempt at world unification. Originally suggested at a UN meeting as a joke, the idea caught on after the Treaty of Beijing was signed, finally ending World War III. People didn't want to be citizens of Australia, or Russia, or Chile, or Luxembourg; they wanted to be citizens of the world.
The idea was proposed, the signatures gathered. France was the last nation to sign – and then finally, the World Unification Act was passed, uniting the world under a single government, a single flag, a single nation.
